Something Borrowed

Do you borrow things from others? It’s a cool thing. They have something we need temporarily, they are willing to let us use it, and we agree to give it back in the same condition that we received it. I don’t know about you, but letting others borrow my things makes me feel good, like I have made a contribution. Recently I have loaned out my truck, a drill, an air compressor, and some books. On the flipside, when I borrow something from someone else, I enjoy that feeling too. I have recently borrowed a wood sander, a video camera, earrings, a car, and books. The majority of the time borrowing works great, that is, until you:

borrow someone’s opinion of you…

use it…

forget that it doesn’t belong to you…

and

 never give it back

If you hang on long enough to that opinion, you will actually begin to believe that it is your own.

If you have accidentally borrowed someone’s opinion of you, please return it right away.

If people try to lend you their opinions about you, a good way to handle it is to remember the quote from Wayne Dyer what you think of me is none of my business.”
